Next to the church dedicated to San Antonio de la Florida is one of the most popular restaurants in Madrid: Casa Mingo.
It was founded in 1888 as a ciderhouse by people from Asturias who worked for the railwork.
Asturias is famous for its cider and these people got it directly from its origin by railway.
Nowadays they still produce their own cider and so Casa Mingo is probably the only real ciderhouse in Madrid.
One particular event that takes places here every year is the "Burial of the Sardine", the last celebration of Carnival. People dressed in black start from Casa Mingo in order to fulfill their commitment.
If you decide to visit Casa Mingo remember to try their fried chicken, probably the best you can taste in Madrid.
