Cheap Hotels in Madrid

With a wealth of history and culture, you may think it would be difficult to visit Spain on a budget. There are, however, a number of nice, yet cheap Madrid hotels and hostels that let you stay in the capital and within your budget. Here are just a few suggestions for things to do and places to see the next time you visit Madrid, Spain.

Madrisol Hotel

One of the most popular attractions in Madrid is the Buen Retiro Park. The Monument to Alfonso XII, the Paseo de la Argentina and the Crystal Palace are just a few of the wonders located in this 350 acre garden. From the Madrisol Hotel in the heart of Madrid, it’s just a fifteen minute walk to the park, or even less to the Puerta del Sol. This large, corner building, boasts 37 exterior rooms, each with air conditioning and satellite TV for very affordable rates.

Gay Pizarro Hostal

Gay Pizarro Hostal is located in the famous Chueca neighbourhood near the city centre. The area around this hostel is home to a variety of businesses from trendy clubs and restaurants to comic shops. The hostel also offers guests discounts at some of those places, so inquire when you arrive. While in the area, you might want to check out the Teatro Alfil performing arts theatre where they’re always playing something unexpected.

THC Latina Hostel

Another economical place to stay is the THC Latina Hostel. Located in La Latina district, near the centre of old Madrid, this hotel offers guests charming balcony views and private bathrooms with all their rooms. Fans of modern art will appreciate being just blocks away from Madrid’s Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and the museum offers free admission during special hours almost every day!

Petit Palace Avenida

Our final suggestion for affordable hotels in Madrid is Petite Palace Avenida in Gran Via. This stylish modern hotel has all the amenities you could want and offers each guest a free tapas and glass of wine at a store next door. The Petite is located in Madrid City Historical Centre, and there are wonderful places to shop and visit everywhere you turn. There are a variety of bike tours all over the city that allow you to get closer to attractions than any tour bus and for a decent price too.

A holiday in Spain doesn’t have to be expensive. With a little research and planning you can find affordable places to stay and possibly even discounts for food, drinks and clubs. In a city like Madrid, rich with history and culture, there is always an adventure to be had and memories to be made.
